Since tonight is the first night of a week of great events for the Mandingueiros dos Palmares 2015 Batizado, there will be no capoeira class at the Deborah Mason School of Dance this evening. Class will resume next week!
Event info can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/events/893617537375473/
There has been a change in our teaching schedule. Our classes will now be from 8 PM – 9:30 PM on Tuesdays in order to better fit the schedule of other Mandingueiros dos Palmares classes in the area. For more information on other classes in the Cambridge/Somerville area, visit www.boston-capoeira.com.
We will be having an open class for beginners followed by a roda at the new brewery/foods hub Aeronaut Brewery in Somerville on June 15th from 2:30-4:30PM. If you’ve never done capoeira before, but are interested in trying it, this is your chance!
We offer classes each Wednesday from 6:30-8 PM at the Deborah Mason School of Dance. The details are below:
When: Wednesdays nights from 6:30-8 PM
Where: The Deborah Mason School of Dance (located at 624 Somerville Ave, Somerville MA) in Studio B
by T: Take the red line to Porter Square and walk down Somerville Ave. If you’re coming out of the Porter Square station, Somerville Ave is the street that heads back to the right, where the Potbelly’s and the Anna’s Taqueria are. It’s about a 10-15 minute walk down Somerville Ave, past the car wash and just past the big Commonwealth Crossfit place. If you see Spring St. or Kent St. you’ve gone too far.
by bus: From Central Square you can take the 83 bus that leaves from the corner of Prospect St. and Mass. Ave. If you take the bus towards Rindge Ave it goes up through Inman Square and Union Square before heading up Somerville Ave. If you get off at the Somerville and Spring St. stop the dance school will be just ahead on your left by the dollar store.
There is also plenty of parking in the lot out front for those of you who drive.
Classes are $12 each and there are changing rooms and water fountains on site.
